This prayer was prayed in community prior to the vote and handed out to delegates before the vote. The Florida Team felt that this prayer helped the vote there.

because it will make a statement
for Florida to have as many
YES votes as possible.
Give us courage to take a stand
because it's the right thing to do
because young & old
who feel the unwelcome
are watching us
are waiting to see
how we will vote.
On this historic campus
where segregation was the rule
for 30 years, help us to vote
for justice and joy, one by one.
Help us to extend
the welcome of Jesus
one hand, one heart
